Calibre 353 — the bumper that added a date

A date is a rarity on a bumper, and the 353 is one of the few Omega calibres in this family to carry one. Beyond the calendar work it is standard centre-seconds fare: 17 jewels, 19,800 vph, 28.1 mm.

Short history

The 353 arrived in 1951 as one of the very few Omega bumpers with a calendar — an extra complication laid over the partial winding weight that defines this whole first generation of automatics.
