Type: automatic, bumper winding weight Jewels: 17 Frequency: 19,800 vph Diameter: 28.1 mm

In brief

Omega ran its new bumper technology in two sizes, and the 340 is the smaller one: 28.1 mm against the 330's 30.1, with chronometer adjustment, 17 jewels and 19,800 vph, aimed at cases the larger movement would not fit.

Short history

Launched in 1943, the same year as the 330, the 340 begins the 28.1 mm branch of the bumper family — the narrower of the two diameters, and the one Omega used to get its new automatic technology into more compact cases.
