Everything in Omega's 30 mm family goes back to this movement: hand-wound, 15 jewels, 18,000 vibrations an hour. In its original 1939 form it carried no shock protection at all for the balance staff.

Short history

Omega launched the 30T2 in 1939 as the basis of what became the most heavily produced hand-wound movement in the company's history, with close to three million units made before it was withdrawn in 1963. Ten years after the launch, in 1949, the firm renumbered the whole family and split it into two parallel branches — sub-seconds and centre seconds — both sharing this original architecture.
