Calibre 280 — the 30SC T2 renumbered

Renumbering the 30T2 SC in 1949 produced the 280. The centre-seconds architecture of the family carries over intact, the jewel count rises to 17, and the 18,000 vph shared across the 30 mm series stays where it was.

Short history

It opens the centre-seconds branch, the 28x series, after the reorganisation of Omega's nomenclature in 1949, taking its design directly from the 30T2 SC the firm had supplied in quantity to the RAF during the war. Its service manual covers the 281 and the 283 as well, its nearest relatives in that generation.
